How I Work

I don't arrive with answers. I arrive with questions.

Every engagement starts with diagnosis. Before any solution is proposed, the real situation needs to be understood — what is actually happening, what is driving it, and where the genuine constraint sits.

The approach

Diagnosis before intervention.

Most consultants arrive with a framework and fit your problem into it. That's not how I work.

I listen first. I ask about what's happening, what people have tried, what doesn't add up. Then I look at the whole system: the people, the decisions, the relationships, the processes, the incentives, the constraints. I identify where the real problem sits, even when the obvious diagnosis is pointing elsewhere.

The visible problem is rarely the real problem. It's almost always produced by something underneath it. Finding that is the work. Once it's clear, we build toward the right outcome.

Engagement model

Four ways the work happens.

Who I work with

People who know something isn't right.

The work is for anyone who recognises that the obvious fixes haven't worked and that the problem needs to be properly understood before anything changes.

Founders and owners Building or running a business that has grown beyond its original structure — and feeling it.
Leaders and executives Responsible for outcomes they can't fully control, in organisations where the real problems are harder to name than the visible ones.
Organisations under pressure Facing a recurring problem, a governance gap, a turnaround requirement, or a moment of strategic decision that needs to be got right.

What I don't do

I rebuild what doesn't work. I don't optimise what is wrong.

Arrive with a template Every engagement starts from the specific situation, not a predetermined method.
Treat symptoms without diagnosing the cause The visible problem is addressed only once the real constraint has been identified.
Optimise a system that is fundamentally wrong If the structure doesn't work, efficiency improvements are a waste of time. We rebuild.
Propose solutions without evidence Nothing is recommended until the actual situation is understood. Diagnosis is not optional.

The starting point

The assessment is where we begin.

Tell me about the situation. Pre-qualification is free and takes a few minutes.
